Mrs Tina Mgbachi, Events & Projects Director of Leicester International College UK is a seasoned expert and consultant in project, event, and education management. Her work life has been dedicated to the educational advancement of others both locally and internationally.
Tina made her mark at the British Council Nigeria where she worked for seventeen years. During her career at the British Council, she was in charge of managing the prestigious and global British Chevening Scholarship programme and many other similar educational programmes, including the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship plan on behalf of the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and the Foreign & Commonwealth Office (FCO) respectively.
At the British Council, some of the outstanding projects and events that were managed by Tina include the Ford Foundation Training Programme; Bamako Initiative Project (which focused on community development) and the UK Annual Education exhibition on behalf of the UK Education Partnership. Tina is also skilled in the management of International Students Summer School events, training, counselling, reporting and sponsorship. She has worked as the Scholarship Manager at a well known college where her efforts resulted in the setting up of the criteria and policies for student recruitment as well as database management.
As a consultant, Tina was instrumental to the setting up of strategies and guidelines for one of the Business Development Services (BDS) providers for the management of a World Bank Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises project in Nigeria.
Tina studied at the Lagos State University, Nigeria where she bagged a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree and a Masters in Public Administration (MPA). In addition, she is a recipient of numerous other professional qualifications including; Prince2 Certificate in Project Management; Certificates in Recruitment & Selection; Advanced Customer Care; Managing Transition; Leadership/Managing People; Project Monitoring & Evaluation; Time Management; Project Cycle Management and Diploma in Computer Software & Applications.
